Book or Treat

This post is a result of a blog post by Neil Gaiman. His “A Modest Proposal” didn’t involve eating people but caught my attention because of the Swift reference. I guess several of is followers recommended he support UNICEF’s Book or Treat because then there was a poll about giving books for Halloween. I think this is a great idea.

So use this week to engage your kids. Visit the UNICEF site, see if any of them are interested in trick or treating to collect donations for UNICEF. And why not have a classroom book drive this week? You don’t need to plan anything simply tell the kids to bring in their old books and perhaps collect them from neighbors, family and friends. Let them see what the impact of simply asking can have.
